This week it was announced that Robert Houle has received one of the Toronto Friends of the Visual Arts (TFVA) awards. Robert has been awarded the $15,000 Founders Achievement Award.
The TFVA is an “independent, non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to the visual arts, and education programs for its 260 members.” Along with Robert, other Toronto-based artists who received the award were Vanessa Dion Fletcher, Lisa Myers and Anique Jordan, who co-curated Robert in the Art Gallery of Ontario’s Every. Now. Then: Reframing Nationhood.
An “independent, non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to the visual arts, and education programs for its 260 members” TFVA also awarded support funds to the Toronto Biennial of Art, Don River Vallery Art program, and YYZBOOKS for projects such as the “public-installation reproduction of Sunrise by Rita Letendre.”
Congratulations to Robert and all of the recipients! Toronto continues to be a city that supports the arts!
